USPS Address Standardization
The USPS rules (CASS / Publication 28) that convert a free-form address into a single canonical, deliverable form.
The Coding Accuracy Support System (CASS) is the USPS-certified process by which addresses are normalized to USPS Publication 28 format. Standardization fixes street suffixes (St → ST), directional indicators (Northwest → NW), secondary unit designators (Suite → STE), and ZIP+4. Bank and platform KYB pipelines use the CASS output (not the user's submitted form) for matching, which is why a member's address must be entered exactly as it appears in the official address record to avoid mismatch declines.
