Registered Agent
A person or company designated to receive legal service of process and state correspondence on behalf of an LLC or corporation.
Every U.S. LLC and corporation must maintain a Registered Agent in the state of formation — a person or company with a physical street address who can accept legal service of process during business hours. The RA address is publicly listed on the Secretary of State filing. RA services like Northwest Registered Agent and Harvard Business Services accept legal documents but do not constitute a business address for banking, KYB, or marketplace verification. Banks routinely reject RA addresses as the principal place of business.
